Boveresse Absinthe Festival (Switzerland)
The small village of Boveresse was famous in the past for the cultivation of common wormwood. The venerable drying shed still standing to the east of the village is a legacy from those times. Today Boveresse is the setting for an annual absinthe festival.
Here you will find dealers selling antique items which may or may not have a connection with our famous aperitif. You'll also find a large number of stands offering a wide range of artisan products created using regional expertise.
At the official stand, you can buy the Festival poster and the absinthe spoon specially created for this event, with a new model being added to our collection each year. The stand will also offer posters, labels, booklets and other items published in previous years.
Demonstrations and tastings
Released from an underground life, absinthe can now step into the light. Which is what also happens in Boveresse, as distillers from the local valley (often former underground producers) take part in the event, presenting their products for you to taste and compare before making any purchases.
As in all the best festivals, there will of course be lots to eat and later, if the mood takes you, there's the option of dancing the night away to the sound of our local jamboree.
